Aaron Placourakis

The Aloha State is a community of international hospitality excellence. One of its most celebrated and respected leaders, Aaron Placourakis, is a man whose philosophy embodies the true meaning of good food and service.

Growing up in Alameda, California and hailing from a long line of Greek food merchants, Aaron learned at an early age the components to hospitality success - quality food, high caliber service, offered in an atmosphere of warmth and in the spirit of generosity and family. This philosophy extends to his restaurant team who greet you at the door as a friend, not a customer.

Living in Hawaii since 1985, Aaron is President and CEO for a restaurant group which owns Nick’s Fishmarket, Sarento’s on the Beach, Son’z Steakhouse and Manoli’s Pizza Company on Maui and Sarento’s Top of the “I” in Waikiki. All the restaurants boast spectacular views, phenomenal food and service with extensive wine cellars.

“I am humbled to be part of our restaurant families who create what I envision every day. The dedication, perseverance and professionalism from our staff is unsurpassed”, says Aaron. This is reinforced by the countless awards all of his operations have received, from Top Ten Restaurants in the United States from Gayot.com to Four Diamond Awards from American Automobile Association.

Community involvement has always been key component in Aaron’s way of life. He’s past Chairman for the Hawaii Restaurant Association, former Board member of the Hawaii Food Bank and Ambassador of the Year for Ka Lima O Maui He’s spearheaded fundraisers to benefit Hawaii and Maui Food Banks, Junior Diabetes, St. Francis Hospice, YMCA, Maui Visitor’s Industry Charity Walk and Montessori Hale O Keiki.

For three decades, sports sponsorship within the state has been a passion of Aaron’s. someExamples to his commitment are ”Plack’s Shoot to Feed”, the biggest racquetball charity tournament in the late 80’s, Wailea Tennis Association and being a major supporter of Maui Canoe and Kayak Club for the past ten years.
